Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an international humanitarian organization that fights hunger and its root causes worldwide. Founded in 1979 and with more than thirty-five years of experience in conflict zones, natural disasters and response to food crises, ACF is one of the most important international organizations specialized in addressing hunger and its underlying causes.
Action Against Hunger’s vision is of a world without hunger. A world in which all children and adults have sufficient food and water, equitable access to the resources that sustain life, and are able to attain these with dignity.
ACF’s mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of malnutrition, especially during and after emergency situations of conflict, war and natural disaster. From crisis to sustainability, the organization tackles the underlying causes of malnutrition and its effects. By integrating its programmes with local and national systems, it further ensures that short-term interventions become long-term solutions.
